Biography

I live in Brisbane with my husband, two very energetic little boys (aged three and one and a half) and one very lazy cat. I started my career in advertising, with over a decade of experience working in agencies in London, Sydney and Melbourne. After having my first child I discovered quickly the difficulty finding flexible professional work, and on further investigation I noticed just how widespread the problem was across most industries.

Jobs Shared was created to provide a solution for employers who were struggling to offer flexible senior positions to mothers returning to work. However, I believe it’s essential that we stop associating flexible work with women and specifically mums as we’ll never normalise it as a tool to be used by everyone, or unlock the true value of job sharing, such as succession planning, career development and of course allowing all employees flexibility when they need it most.

I have made it my mission to see job sharing go mainstream. Life is so fast passed these days, and companies are under pressure to produce results quicker than ever, meaning the easy way is to simply fill a job with one full time employee. To keep workplaces diverse and keep up with the different ways we now lead our lives we’re going to have to start thinking outside the box, and this is where job sharing fills a need.

My goal is to make job sharing normal practice within organisations, remove the ‘women’s issue’ stigma from it and educate corporations on the many benefits job sharing can bring them.
