Kelly Lai

Having spent most of her life in a city that sees sub 30°C extra-long winters, Kelly decided to wander south of the equator to experience this “four seasons” she has heard so much about. After getting her MBA back in Canada, she worked for a Big 4 consulting firm, providing advisory services to multinational companies as it related to their strategy and operations. When not helping other companies do their thing, she was side-hustlin’ her own thang. Needing a creative outlet for her inner art student, she co-founded an online marketplace that connected people over delicious, home-cooked meals. Having her own side-piece meant that she had full control of the end-to-end customer experience, designing branding, processes, and touchpoints that resonated with her customers. Kelly also competed in hackathons and spoke on start-up panels as a way to continuously develop her leadership and public speaking skills. After landing in Melbourne, Kelly knew that she wanted to get back in the startup game and meet like-minded people!
